Santa’s sack is slowly starting to fill up. If they’re fans of Playmobil, perhaps your kids might discover a Carpeto playmat at the foot of the Christmas tree. The brand was launched in 2016 by two couples of friends from Rennes, parents of four children each. It was while playing with his 7 year old son that Hugues Segond got the idea. “The play mat he played on with his figures was far too busy, too realistic. He didn’t have room to make up his own story,” says the father.
This led to the idea of designing a more sober printed play mat on which the figures could also stand. “It’s a playful but also educational object. We try to make children’s imagination grow”, underlines Virginie Van Gorkum, associated with the project.
